OFFENSIVE PRESSING

In this historical moment, the most sought after football identity at national and international level is oriented towards the mastery of the game , understood as the ability to express a proactive game from the beginning of its action. However, there are coaches and clubs whose dominant identity is based on a totally opposite principle: inhibiting opposing offensive solutions through an asphyxiating defensive organisation . The most concrete and current example is the style of play chosen by “El Cholo” Simeone for his Atletico Madrid. Dominating the non-ball possession phase means knowing how to bring direct and indirect contrast , to obscure individually and to collaborate collectively in order to induce the opponents to do what our team allows defensively. In this sense, it becomes essential to know how to organize pressing not only based on the type of game of the opponents, but also and above all in a manner that is functional to the characteristics and abilities of the individual players, as well as one's own game system.
Our technical staff wanted to help all coaches work on the organization of pressing through 30 exercises centered on training specific skills , both individual and collective , essential for building a pressing action that expresses the desire to dominate the game both in the possession phase and in the non-possession phase.
